Israel Independence Day at Sanur

When: Thursday April 15, 2021

Sanur is the site of an Israeli town that was evacuated and demolished in the summer of 2005 as part of the “Disengagement” program in which Israel removed all of the Jewish towns in Gush Katif and four towns in Northern Samaria. Many residents of Sanur temporarily relocated to Shave Shomron where they wait for the day that they can return and rebuild their homes in Sanur. The towns that were removed are deep within areas dominated by the Palestinian Authority and off limits to Jews.

On Israel Independence Day Yom HaAtzamaut Israelis will be allowed to reach the site of Sanur and a festival and celebration will be held with permission and protection of the IDF.
